PROGRAM OPTIONS

From this window you may enable, disable, and customize various program features.

General Options

These options apply to the program as a whole or to miscellaneous areas.

Dock Pillage Window

Turning this option on will align the pillage window against the left side of your Puzzle Pirates window. The pillage window will reposition itself if the Puzzle Pirates window is moved.

Dock Chat Log Window

This will align the chat log window against the bottom of your Puzzle Pirates window. The chat log window will reposition itself if the client window is moved.

Dock Damage Counter

This will align and lock the damage counter below the pillage window.

Easter Eggs

Turning this off will disable your sense of humor. See Easter eggs for more information.

AutoChat Clears Buffer

This option will tell QuarterMaster to send an [Enter] keystroke to the Puzzle Pirates chat text buffer before sending any AutoChat messages. This will effectively clear any old text from the buffer.

Auto Responses

This turns on the auto response system. See QuarterMaster\Users\AutoResponses.txt for full instructions on how to use this system.

Open Puzzle Pirates on Start Up

With this option turned on, when QuarterMaster starts up it will also launch the Puzzle Pirates game.

Load My Pirate on Start Up

With this option set, when QuarterMaster starts up, it will update its record of your pirate's stats every time you log in. Disabling this function will save time when logging in.

Load My Crew on Start Up

When QuarterMaster starts up, it will update your crew roster every time you log in. Disabling this function will save time when logging in.

Remove pirates from the black list N days after last offence.

Setting this option tells QuarterMaster to automatically remove pirates from your temporary black list after the specified number of days from their last offence.

Add pirates to permanent black list after N offences.

Setting this option tells QuarterMaster to add players to the permanent black list after the specified number of offences, i.e. the number of times they have been added to the temporary black list.

Sound Options

These options deal with the various sound alerts available in QuarterMaster. All sound files are located in your QuarterMaster\Sounds\ directory and may be replaced by custom sound files.

When customizing your sounds please be sure to name the new sounds exactly the same as the default file, and only use WAV format files.

Chat log options

The eight sound options in the first column, QM System Log to Greeter Chat, will play an audio alert whenever a message is received in the corresponding chat log. These alerts are only played if the chat log is not the currently active window.

Gold List Alert

Plays an audio alert when a member of your gold list comes aboard your vessel.

Black List Alert

Plays an audio alert when somebody comes aboard your vessel who is on one of your black lists, either temporary or permanent.

Hearty Login

Plays an audio alert whenever one of your hearties log in.

Crewmate Login

Plays an audio alert whenever one of your crew members log on.

No Music

This turns off the QuarterMaster title music on the login screen.

Pursuit Alert

Plays an audio alert whenever your ship enters a pursuit.

Disengage Alert

Plays an audio alert whenever you or your opponent is able to disengage from sea battle.

Plank Splash

Plays a very satisfying audio accompaniment to plankings from your vessel.

PTB Alert

Plays an audio alert when a player requests PTB, or when a jobber joins during battle.

Keywords

When this setting is enabled, QuarterMaster will watch the chat logs for the specified words and sound an alert when they appear.

This can be useful if you want to be alerted when your pirate character's name is mentioned, or for game events that are not covered by other alerts, such as tournament announcements or blockades.

Type in one keyword or phrase per line of the memo box.

The keyword scanner is not case-sensitive and will pick up partial matches, so the keyword "Ship" will trigger an alert for both "ship" and "shipping".

If you would like the scanner to only match whole words, put a blank space before and after the keyword entry, such as " Ship ".

In order for keywords to work you must have the system enabled by ticking the Keywords checkbox.

Pillage Options

These options are concerned with various functions and tasks used by officers in command of a ship at sea.

Enable Auto Jobbing

The Auto Jobbing function sends out a jobbing invite to any player who sends you a /tell message containing the text "job me". The system is not case sensitive, and it will be triggered by partial word matches.

Record All Plankings

With this option off enabled, only plankings from your local vessel will be recorded. If it is enabled, QuarterMaster records all plankings from every ship in your crew. The plankee will be added to your black list if you have BlackList Add (Plank) turned on.

Auto-Plank

With this option turned on, anyone who boards your vessel will be immediately planked. This is useful for times when you need to sail solo, such as trade runs or memming.

There are two sub-options in this feature:

  • The upper text box can be used to specify a /tell message to be sent to pirates who have just been auto-planked.
  • The Immune dropdown menu: crew members with the specified rank or higher will not be automatically planked.

PayCut AutoAdd, BlackList AutoAdd

These four options can be used to tell QuarterMaster to automatically add pirates to your pay-cut list and black lists when they are planked or desert during battle.

When pirates are planked or leave the ship during battle, these four options control whether or not they are automatically added to your Black List or Pay Cut list.

Icon Display Options

Pirates whose skill in a given puzzle meets or exceeds a specified standing will have an icon representing that puzzle displayed next to their names in the Vessel list. These options control the display of those icons.

GoldList Show Icon,
BlackList Show Icon,
All Duty Show Icon

Toggle these icons on or off. The All Duty icon, if enabled, will appear in place of the six duty icons if the pirates standings meet all of the minumum requirements configured below.

Duty Skill Minimums

The six dropdown menus correspond to the six duty puzzles, and are used to specify the minimum standing required for an icon to be displayed.

Order

These nine settings control the order in which the duty puzzle icons are displayed. The puzzle designated #1 has its icon at the left, #2 is next, and so on.

Order Icons by Standing

This option overrides the nine Order settings. When it is turned on, the skill icons for each pirate are shown in order of their standing, from strongest at the left to weakest at the right. Gold and black list icons will be displayed first if they are enabled.

Damage Counter Options

These options apply to the damage counter and the score broadcasts it produces.

Type of Battle

Pillage (Non-sinking)

This specifies your current battle as non-sinking. Maximum damage will be scaled to 60% of vessel hit points (this is the maximum damage penalty in the melee portion of the battle).

War (Sinking)

This specifies your current battle as sinking, which is the case when your flag is at war with your opponent. This option should always be used for blockades, as your ship will be removed from the board only when it reaches the point of sinking, regardless of war declaration. With this option set, maximum damage will be scaled to 100% of vessel hit points (the point at which the vessel will sink). You are still able to monitor the melee damage penalties via the graphical display.

Score Broadcast Options

Cannonball Hits

This will track the damage in terms of cannonball hits. The number of hits required from maximum damage will be scaled to the appropriate size cannonball for the vessels involved.

Percentage

This will track the damage as a percentage of the total hit points for each vessel.

Blocks / Rows

This will track the damage in terms of how many damage blocks will show up in the sword fight, or how many rows the over-hanging wall will be lowered in a rumble melee.

Custom Message

This option allows you to create a custom format for your score broadcasts. You can input any line of text to appear as your score broadcast. A number of "tags" may be used to include data from the damage counter; these are listed below.

Message Preview

This section shows a preview of what the score broadcast message would look like with the current damage counter data.

Full / Simplified

These two mode options allow you to choose between a longer message with more information, or a short concise message.

Enter these tags exactly as shown, including the [square brackets].
